The Dept. Of Biochemistry, conducted a cancer awareness class led by Dr. Phinse M Philip, Dept. of Community Oncology, Malabar Cancer Centre, Kannur. We feel very happy to be able to conduct such a wonderful program in the beginning of 2023. The session was marvelous. The students were able to understand cancer a little bit better. All the doubts students had about cancer were cleared through an interactive session. Teachers and students also received practicals to detect breast cancer. A very positive feedback was received from the students through this session. So heartfelt thanks to the Principal and Academic Director for giving permission and providing all the support for this program. Also thankful to all colleagues who supported this program.
On January 13, 2023, the Department of Biochemistry embarked on a journey to the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation in Wayanad. Departing from Edappal at 3 AM, we reached the institution at 9 AM. During our visit, we attended a captivating class on plant research, exploring the realms of biodiversity and the medicinal potential of various plant species. Ms. Dhanya, a scientist, and Mr. Salim, a subject expert, enriched our understanding of these topics. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the institution's staff for this enlightening experience. It marked a memorable start to 2023, and students provided positive feedback. After immersing ourselves in Wayanad's natural beauty, we returned safely to Edappal at 11:30 PM on January 14, 2023, with a newfound appreciation for plant research and biodiversity.
An induction program was organized for the 2023-2026 batch on 17/8/23, attended by students from Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Food Technology departments. Mr. Nishad Pattayil, an international corporate trainer, led a session titled "IGNITE THE SPARK" with the Principal, Vice Principal, Department Heads, and faculty in attendance. The program aimed to introduce students to college culture, communicate the code of conduct, prepare them for career goals, and encourage skill development. Mr. Pattayil effectively conveyed the program's objectives to the students in a concise and engaging manner.
